For majority of the people, the first cup of brew in the morning is like fuel for their body – I have some similar thoughts…But this new study voids it.
According to CNBC report the best time to sip your cup of coffee is late morning or early afternoon.
Laura Cipullo, who is the author of The Women’s Health Body Clock Diet spoke to CNBC where she told that early morning java a little later into one’s day is better and perfect.
When you wake up, your body starts to produce cortisol. It is a hormone that increases blood sugar and speed up your body’s process.
The level of cortisol is at its peak around 9 a.m. Cipullo also warned adding caffeine to natural influx of cortisol in your body.
This combination can make you feel jittery and nervous post-coffee.
Instead of walking like a zombie to the kitchen and preparing a cup of coffee, Cipullo recommends to wait three to four hours after waking up and then brew your cup.
By doing this, it can prevent mid-afternoon feeling of lethargy, we all are quiet familiar with.
Of course we have our jobs and other tasks to do early in the morning, so she recommends to start on weekends. This way you can drink coffee later in the day and don’t have to rush to work.
Gradually, it will acclimate your system to a new register.
I personally think that Cipullo’s advice is actually good for healthy. Why one should mess with the natural process of hormones?
It might be a bit difficult for you in the beginning but slowly you’ll adjust it to your routine. Perhaps you will need a portable coffee maker for this purpose?
