Bought your automatic Black & Decker coffee maker but confused how to program it? Don’t worry because we’ve got your back with our step-by-step guide on how to auto program your Black & Decker coffee brewer.
Before I proceed, important to note that Black & Decker have 33 different types of programmable coffee makers.
However, programming them is pretty much standard and easy but still you should also give a quick look to that owner’s manual to ensure if there are some specific instructions to take care of.
So, let’s start…
1: Set the Timer
Once your coffee maker is all ready, the first thing you need to do is set the timer. Most of the Black & Decker coffee brewers come with delayed brewing function and this helps brew coffee at present time.
But…if you are not using this feature, it is recommended that you set the clock to the correct time.
And to set the clock, there will be an “HR” button that will help to set the hour. You will see the display on the LCD only after you have plugged in the unit.
Hold the “HR” button and release it at the correct hour. If you want to program your brewer in “PM” instead of “AM”, let the cycle run from 1 to 12th hour, after that you will see a small “PM” display in the right or left corner of the display. Press and hold the “HR” button again to release at the correct hour.
To set the minutes, there is a “MIN” button just below the “HR” which allows you to set the minutes. It works the same: Hold and release.
Here is a video I found that will help you get a better understanding of the “HR”, “PM” and “AM” functions of your coffee brewer.
2: Delay Feature
If you want to set your coffee maker to brew at some specific time of the day, there will be a button labelled “PROG”. Press it and then set the time in the same way we did above. Once you have set the time, you will notice that the display flashes several times.
Don’t worry it is just indicating that you’ve programmed your brewer. It will revert back to the current time of the day after flashing for couple times.
Once it reverts to the current time of the day, press the “AUTO” button and this will activate the program.
So that is coffee addicts. I hope this guide helped you program your Black & Decker coffee maker. Since I don’t know which model you might be using, I’d recommend posting a comment with your model number and picture of the control panel. This way I can help you program it easily.
